EFFECTIVE DRY EYE SOLUTIONS BEGIN WITH A COMPREHENSIVE DRY EYE EXAM
Your journey begins with a comprehensive dry eye evaluation to determine what is causing YOUR dry eye. Different causes mean different treatment plans. Different symptoms and severity of discomfort may also affect the treatment plan as well. As part of your comprehensive dry eye exam, we will use state-of-the-art technology and tests to determine the root cause(s) of your dry eye discomfort and pain. This includes: Lipiscan® Meibography, Expression of Meibum, Vital Dyes Analysis, Blink Assessment, and more.
CUSTOMIZED, EFFECTIVE DRY EYE TREATMENTS AVAILABLE AT OUR OFFICE IN SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN
Many factors can contribute to an individual's dry eye problems. Once we determine the reasons for your dry eye issue, we will customize a treatment plan just for you. For some, it could be as simple as starting with Home Therapy and developing a better lid hygiene routine. For others, a Pharmaceutical Intervention of prescription eye drops or oral medication may be extremely helpful. Lastly, Advanced Interventional Dry Eye Therapies such as IPL, LLLT, and/or Lipiflow may be recommended. There are no one-treatment-fits-all solutions. For most patients, we generally start by recommending the simplest solutions that will effectively address the root causes of one’s particular dry eye issue – before gradually working our way toward more aggressive and clinical options.

DryEyeWI has invested heavily in training and equipment
Because there are many factors that contribute to an individual's dry eye problems, there are no one-treatment-fits-all solutions. Home therapy, pharmaceutical and advanced interventional eye treatments may all be tried in a progression that is both clinically and financially effective for our patients. We always try the simplest solutions first, and gradually work our way toward more aggressive and clinical options.
At DryEyeWI, we are proud to offer the most advanced technology, including IPL (Intense Pulse Light therapy), RLT (Red Light Therapy), Liplflow, BlephEx, Prokera Membrane Therapy, customized Autologous Serum Eye Drops, Therapeutic Scleral Contact Lenses, and more.
IPL Intense Pulse Light Therapy
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, and is a light-based technology commonly used in dermatology to treat rosacea and reduce telangiectasia. IPL is now being used in eye care to treat meibomian gland dysfunction and dry-eye disease.
During the procedure, a strategic level of light pulses is administered to penetrate the skin under the eye and targets the root cause of the inflammation. As the IPL treatment treats your overall skin appearance, your eyelid inflammation is treated and improved as well. IPL procedures are effective, gentle and safe.
LLLT Low Level Light Therapy
LLLT uses specially designed LED lights to deliver focused light of a specific color that targets the cellular power plants of the cells - the mitochondria. Patient wears a comfortable mask and photobiomodulation stimulates production of ATP - the energy that powers our cells. The overall effect is a rejuvenation of cells via support of cellular self-repair and renewal. LLLT technology has been used in medicine for over 10 years, but only recently did doctors discover its benefits for the treatment of Dry Eye and several other eye conditions.
Lipiscan
Proper diagnosis requires specialized staff and equipment. The LipiScan Dynamic Meibomian Imager is the first dedicated HD meibomian gland imager. It allows our doctors to actually see blockages and obstructions in the glands of your lower eyelid. We can assess the thickness of the lipid layer, and determine the best path to pain free eyes.

Lipiflow
DryEyeWI has also invested in the LipiFlow equipment. LipiFlow is a thermal pulsation system used to treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). It works by producing a precise combination of heat and massage to both outer and inner eyelids. Most patients state that it feels like a comfortable eyelid massage! This technology has proven extremely effective at clearing the blockages in the Meibomian Glands and getting the oily component of the tears flowing again. Best of all, a LipiFlow treatment can be performed during a single office visit in as little as 12-15 minutes.
